Just submitted my nomination papers for @OpenLabour national committee. Really looking forward to discussing the future of OL and Labour more broadly!
I'll be doing some campaigning on here, but hope not to clog the tl with it - here's a short thread on why I'm running.

I see Open Labour as the future of the Labour Party - not just Labour's left. We have a real opportunity to influence the direction of the party and build our movement, and I really hope I can be a part of that.
We influence the party through open discourse - Being a part of @SocReview makes me so enthused about the future of Labour, bc its a great group, and a group able to disagree constructively. OL can and should set the tone for how we disagree with each other as a party.
We set the tone by having a presence all over the country. Regional branches are springing up, which is great, and I'm proud to be involved in my region, and was thrilled to be elected to committee. But we must make sure not just to be a top-down organisation.
OL's outlook can be both national and regional. The problems we face are national & global in scale, but their solutions will look different in each local area.
I want to empower regional groups to greater influence policy on issues that affect them.

To create good policy, we need to build on our ideas. OL has been running Zoom events throughout this difficult lockdown period. There's no reason this shouldn't continue! Discussion events expand our horizons and that our of members - and our members are our greatest asset.
I'll update this thread, and likely tweet more, as time goes on. There's some great candidates, and so far I'm really optimistic about the future of Open Labour! Any questions about my candidacy, drop me a DM!
