(1)There is a human side to BuzzFeed News UK being closed - some very strong journalists who need (& deserve) new jobs. There is also a democratic question BuzzFeed UK broke important stories that just would not have been published without them. What happens to those stories now?
(2)If the ad market can't sustain important news stories, either some other means has to be found, or we just have to be ignorant about vital social, political, economic facts. A few folk have said BuzzFeed News UK 'Punched above their weight' which is true. ...
(3)But I think other news outlets sometimes punch below their weight, allowing a well staffed & enthusiastic newcomer to pick up ground - this might be a personal bugbear, but I think the BBC for example does far less news breaking than it should/could.
