Designer Bretta Gerecke, with our team of artisans, incorporated costume pieces from all the Prosperos who have ever played on our Festival stage, pieces of Martha’s costume from her first role at Stratford in 1962 and pieces of the original tent that housed our first 4 seasons.
Her magic staff also includes pieces of our original stage floor.
Bretta promised Martha not to reveal all the secrets (there are many, many more talismans and artifacts) BUT she may spill a few more when she joins us tomorrow to chat with @acimolino_sf about their creative inspiration for The Tempest. Stay tuned!
