In a particularly sensitive week for NepaliđŸ‡łđŸ‡”sovereignty, i discovered #MoMo đŸ„Ÿ is listed as “Indian” 😳

@Google — please FIX it!

Even if there is an Indian ‘meat-in-dough-wrap’ dish, “MoMo” as it exists is #Nepali (as ShaPhaley is Tibetan, Ravioli Italian, Samosa Indian).

đŸ™đŸŒ
MoMo and ShaPhaley? Nope.

Revisit the dumplings map.

Nepal’s MoMo likely came from Tibet. But that’s a centuries old origin story.

It has since become a Nepali dish.
& its wide popularity in India is also tied to Kathmandu MoMo’s popularity on Indian food & travel shows in 1990s.
