Before now, I bet you never knew that anything like an indoors beach existed, so today I’m introducing you to “Tropical Islands, Germany” the facility which holds the records for the biggest indoors beach and biggest indoors rainforest in the World.

When I first came across this facility, I could not believe my eyes. I thought it was a joke, I mean, how could a beach, together with the sea and skies be located indoors? Well, I did my research and it actually exists!

So the story goes that this place used to be an abandoned Aircraft Hanger before it was transformed into the Tourist delight it currently is. Without wasting more time, let’s go on a Tour of the facilities within the largest indoors beach and rainforest in the world.

1. The Sea, sun and skies: The artificial sea is the size of 3 Olympic sized swimming pools, the beach-sand gives you the feeling of being at the beach, while you can still feel the Sunlight stream from above. The board at the head of the sea gives you the impression of ‘skies’.

2. The Rainforest: covers an area of 10,000 m² and is home to around 50,000 plants of 600 different varieties – from traveller's palms to Bengal trumpets. It also houses animals like Turtles, dragonfish, butterfly, flamingos, macaws Beetles, pheasants, quail, peacocks & geckoes.

3. Restaurants: Tropical Islands is a foodie’s delight. With at least 5 restaurants in the facility serving different dishes, there’s something for everyone. #TravelWithRouvafe

4. Cafés, Bars & Lounges

From Café Borneo, Bora Bora Lounge and Tropical beach bars to the Lagoon Bar, Zambezi bar and the Bali Pavilion, there is a long list of Cafés and Lounges where you can grab practically any of your choice drinks. #TravelWithRouvafe
