Indiana’s first statewide coronavirus study, conducted by @IndianaUniv’s Fairbanks School of Public Health, indicates about 186,000 Hoosiers have had the disease.
This is roughly 3% of our state’s population.

45 % of those who were infected had no symptoms.
The estimated 186,000 cases is ~11x the number of cases originally reported. This also means the case fatality rate is lower.
How prevalent is the disease by region of the state? @nkellyatJG has the map: https://twitter.com/nkellyatjg/status/1260642290219048961?s=21 https://twitter.com/nkellyatjg/status/1260642290219048961
What are the demographics of the epidemic? How do they match up with the state’s population? Minority communities are hardest hit: https://twitter.com/brandonjsmith5/status/1260642462227476484?s=21 https://twitter.com/brandonjsmith5/status/1260642462227476484
Put differently, minority communities make up a larger percentage of the disease’s victims than their percentage of the state’s population. This matches some earlier data from the state’s tests.
