1. The Background | Doom Dada 둠 다다

Seunghyun has spoken about how this song shows his full artistic talents. Fuse interviews him and asked him briefly about Doom Dada:

He was not kidding about the cult film influences either. Seunghyun hasn’t really dug deep into explaining this song or the MV. I feel like he wants it left to interpretation. Of course the story isn’t hard to research about. It’s just very complexed to put in detail.

The lyrics can be dissecting any way y’all want but I feel like now it’s pretty straight forward. In 2013 he has evolved and is now the “artist of rap” as many have said. He basically felt it was time to show folks what he was capable of.

2013 was also a year where a lot of new talent was forming, debuting and coming onto the scene. I wouldn’t say this was intimidation but you can clearly tell Seunghyun wanted others to realize there will never be another like him

Let’s get into why everybody is here: The MV

There are many blogs out there that have interpreted this MV as much as possible (I will leave links for the ones I have found a little later so you guys can read for yourselves).

The opening of this MV takes it back to the “Turn It Up” MV. Black & White. Back turned.

Seunghyun saying “Long time no see Long time no see” during this part now clicks

The part where he reveals himself as the homo sapien is what we’re gonna say (yes...that’s him ) can be interpreted different ways but for ME and going off the evolution part...this scene is him discovering the mic (rap) and discovering his gift.

This part has been said to be a reference to Knave of Hearts from Alice in the Wonderland but I’m still trying to find the overall correlation other than the eye patch

As we move along you see this and—-

I really don’t know how to interpret this but all I know is he look good AF

Now we’re at the “let me pretend to run with just my arms” scene and tbh I like that hairstyle on him.

I have yet to see or hear about a clear interpretation for this but for ME it seems he’s running through some sort of time.

I just wanna day that the “zebra” is a horse with stripes painted on it

So the interpretation I’ve heard about the “zebra” is he’s symbolizing that he can fool the heard. Zebras are the masters of illusions. If a horse is painted as one well—-

I really feel like that was a special message to the people who think they know him from what they hear. This man could literally could fool the media with anything he says.....

Let’s move on to this

So for a little background on the copyright you see, Kim Whanki is related to Seunghyun. I believe Seunghyun is his great nephew. Kim Whanki was an amazing abstract artist. Born in 1913 and he passed away in 1974.

Seunghyun used art pieces from his foundation in this scene. As we all know Seunghyun loves chairs. He was even seen making sure the aesthetic for this scene was perfect to his liking

The chair pieces are from the Italian artist of the name Cappellini

The deer? I’ll leave y’all to think about that because I’ve come up BLANK

The scene where Seunghyun suddenly becomes an artistic vlogger...I have no words who was he talking to?

This whole theme is said to be a reference to the surrealist Salvador Dalí. The streets say Seunghyun also got the baby and his mustache idea from Salvador as well.

The suit though sends me because a lot of people thought he got his inspiration from DJango. Which could be a heavy possibility

The streets also interpret (which I can see) that this scene symbolizes Seunghyun guiding the way for the big baby which is said to symbolize upcoming new talent. The baby is in the driver’s seat but Seunghyun still controls the direction

Seunghyun then is in the drivers seat while the baby is throwing a tantrum My fav scene of the entire MV cause if that ain’t the damn TRUTH!

I forgot to mention above about the “Rap Basquiat” part. If you’re into Seunghyun you’ll know one of his all time favorite artist (if not his number one fav) is the late Jean-Michel Basquiat.

A highly respected artist in the art world that is considered a trailblazer for the art era of Neo-Expression and Contemporary.

Back to the big baby!

So the streets are also saying the baby could be a reference from Alice in the Wonderland again. Tweedledee & Tweedledum looked exactly like this big ass baby.

The evolution part I’ve seen 2 interpretations. 1: He’s symbolizing the evolution of himself. He is now the God. And 2: He is the the bar and the ones behind him are trying to get to his level.

Either of them could be correct but I roll more with the first one.

TOP aka Twista

So the part where you see his homo sapien character now dressed in the same attire he is highlights very well that he has now evolved into the artist he wants to be. No more fucking around with these hoes

I knew Hakuna Matata has to mean something more than just “no worries” in this song. The interpretation said for it is that he’s basically saying anyone who shit talk are not a worry to him because they are all talk and no bite

I wanna take it a step further and say he wasn’t only saying that to the haters but his biggest fans...KMedia The masses be all talk but they won’t go up against him so

In conclusion, do not fuck with this man. This was released in 2013 and he still meant what he said. Doom Dada was a story of him trying to tell the masses he cannot be touched artistically. He has become the TOP that is out of this world powerful.

He is literally a Rap God on this planet we call Earth.

2020 TOP is not even an evolution. Just from the new music snippets alone he has ascended to the ultimate level of rap. Now down bitches!!! The king is coming and he is going to doom dada all over the rappers that think they know best.
