I think one thing that really interests me in terms of COVID-19 discussions is how much we focus on death rate (which YES is important!)

You can learn to live with a disability and you can have a very fulfilling life as a paralyzed person, but when I was very suicidal, what stopped attempts wasnt that I would die, it was that I might fuck up & have to live paralyzed & alone with my thoughts
Okay, end of thread. I got tired of just seeing these really *secretly* depressed people on my tl say "death is whatever" when... we have a really high chance of living, and being irreversibly changed in ways that aren& #39;t easy or fun
