I think one thing that really interests me in terms of COVID-19 discussions is how much we focus on death rate (which YES is important!)

But ppl are ALWAYS quick to say "fuck it, I'm not scared of death"

You can learn to live with a disability and you can have a very fulfilling life as a paralyzed person, but when I was very suicidal, what stopped attempts wasnt that I would die, it was that I might fuck up & have to live paralyzed & alone with my thoughts
Okay, end of thread. I got tired of just seeing these really *secretly* depressed people on my tl say "death is whatever" when... we have a really high chance of living, and being irreversibly changed in ways that aren't easy or fun
