Remember how I pointed out that white "left" dudes stole "Karen" Black folks using it to mean white ladies calling the cops on Black kids' lemonade stands?

That white left dudes just use it to mean "bitch," now?

Well, it's gotten to the point where even Nazis use it that way.
I don't speak German so I don't know the full context, but that video is a skit where young women are making a show how you can use your underwear as a mask.

That video (with that Karen caption), has been shared across several Nazi Telegram channels.
It's been especially popular in white supremacist channels pushing #ReOpen's narrative.

They use it to make fun of women following mask-wearing and social distancing protocols, and especially women who get upset seeing people laughingly defy those protocols.
This "Karen" isn't tattling to anyone.

She's just an older woman respecting distancing protocols and yelling a very human message of love through the front door of someone she cares about.
For both the dirtbags and the Nazis, "Karen" has just come to mean any middle-aged woman they don't like.
Nazis and their enablers are also hellbent on labeling antifascist women with "Karens."

Did you report them for posting racist, antisemitic, or otherwise hateful content?

You're a Karen, now, ladies.
And whatever you do, don't suggest that just MAYBE white supremacists who commit deliberate, hit-and-run vehicular assaults against counter-protesters should face even the tiniest bit of legal accountability.

That would make you a dreaded "antifa Karen."
Again, the Karen stuff started out as a Black meme that was used to name white women so completely invested in their privilege that they would report Black folks doing legal, normal things to police, authorities KNOWN for illegal, unprovoked violence against Black folks.
Dirtbag white dudes appropriated it and used it to call out any white woman demanding any kind of accountability, under the pretense that it was about class entitlement.

Bullshit.

If this were only about class, there'd be an equivalent term for dudes.

There isn't.
"Karen" became a stand-in for "bitch" for misogynist white dude leftists.

For those white dirtbags, it's not about class.

It's about women having the temerity to demand that other people calling themselves "leftist" be accountable to *very* basic social justice ground rules.
Nazis and their enablers understand this intuitively.

It maps perfectly onto their resentment of women that dare try to deplatform them, or hold them accountable for their violence, or even just responsibly and personally follow social distancing guidelines.
For Nazis and the dirtbags both, "Karens" are a very specific kind of white woman: over thirty, usually at least somewhat overweight, & willing to verbalize a criticism they don't like.

It's not about class; it's about their hatred of women who aren't quiet, young, & beautiful.
In other words, for white dudes, the word "Karen" is about misogyny.

It's about their rage at the idea of a woman-- an unattractive woman, no less-- having the nerve to exist and to have thoughts and to expect others to practice accountability.
And of course, there are white women more than happy to score patriarchy points by echoing that narrative, by joining the Karen-labelling brigade.

All that proves is that internalized misogyny exists, and that patriarchal bargains are still alive and well.
If you're white, stop talking about "Karens."

It's not a word that belongs to white people, and in the mouth of white people it just means "mouthy bitch" at this point anyway.

Don't reinforce that.

Have a moment of silence if you need it.

But say goodbye to that word.
