I haven't really watched this show in ten years, I was obsessed with it when I was a teenager, but I can still feel the weird dissonance between the essence of the show and the standard Adult Swim humour and cadence

Guy who does Dean Venture's voice doing a mickey-rooney-level fake asian accent for this ninja character whose name is "Otaku Senzuri": the precise opposite of every conceivable definition of good.

yeah I forgot the pilot was this prurient, all the sex worker jokes and the technological fetishist thing. Some stuff hints at later greatness but nothing to indicate it'll be better than like...Perfect Hair Forever or Assy McGee or something.
