-3D scans to the millimeter... "imported"
Can you see how VR is going to become... 1 to 1 with reality?

I am very curious & anxious to see how future or current "mobile CPU/GPU" (snapdragon 855 +8x5) are going to be with UE5 features... what it would mean for Mobile VR...
In the past few months I completely redesigned SU creative pipeline to reduce draw calls.
From characters that had +10 materials (For many creative reasons) to just one.
It's so much work to design that kind of pipeline so it stays still creatively flexible.

The goal of SU creatively, visually was always to reduce polys and calls so I could use all the cool post processes, effects, lights and shadow to the max.
I love polygons "as is" flat or smooth
Next SU game push this to extreme... & ridicule my current release visually.

It means that I will be able to do the same pipelines... but I was always worried about draw calls, and the amount of "stuff" you can have in game, especially with big open spaces...

Art takes time..., Zbrush/substance "assets" even more, it's a LOT of work, it's full time artist work.
This is THE huge cost on production (game/film)
So for AAA it means it's now easier.
For small studio, that kind of art is too expensive to make for a whole game.

Will it really mean that we won't have to optimize, create LODs, trying to manage load times, RAM, on future Consoles (and future PC Nvme SSD)

When I see assets in Social VR with +50K poly avatars , I am like "This is too much, optimize!"
So soon all the non tech-artist will be able to push whatever & call it done?
It's so exiting because be sure that if UE4 is doing this, other will be (Unity?) soon too (?)

ILM sucks at VR, it's so unoptimized what they do... this will help :P

Sorry about all these tweets, i have been creating 3D gfx since the 90's & there was alway a limit somewhere.
CPU, or GPU... or RAM... VRAM... or the numbers of colors... polygons or draw calls...
...and now UE5 is telling me these deades of struggles are over??

I alway though the Game Engines will be a final limiting factor...
