pixelated Castlevania X Darkstalkers game that functions similarly to MMxSF in that you play as a Belmont and fight each of the original Night Warriors after making your way through classicvania levels themed after them

perhaps special attributes and subweapons differ depending on the Belmont you pick

Simon can whip diagonally and can get flame whip as a power up
Richter has backflip + slide
Julius has divekick
Trevor can summon Sypha for special attacks at the cost of a lot of hearts

might add to this later

to further add variety we could add some lesser known Belmonts like Christopher and Sonia

maybe Christopher could start out the game with a multiplier, since they don't really exist in The Adventure ReBirth and you can kinda just throw whatever 3 times

I'd rather give Sonia the whip that shoots fireballs because she's the one that did it first

a good first level would be one thats based on Zabel
most enemies would just be different zombies and it'd be a nice place to start. they'd move slowly and make you stop and think before you progress. i think it'd be a good way to get the player to quickly grasp the physics of-

-a classicvania and prepare them for the difficulty up ahead

in addition to his specials from Darkstalkers, i think it'd be a nice touch if Zabel either tried to swing his guitar at you or send (destructible) projectiles at you as he plays it. the latter would be a nice call-

-forward to the Dracula fight which i would LOVE to instead be Demitri

stage 2 is a could place to fit victor
i had the idea of the stage having a little gimmick where some of the rooms are long hallways filled with enemies, and all of the candles that you break actually have a lot of large hearts and WALL CHICKENNNN

but there's a catch

that being that it actually effects the lighting of the room and you can heal yourself or fuel yourself at the cost of foresight

maybe if you beat the game with all of the belmonts you can unlock Donovan Baine as a playable character

this would maybe in turn unlock a new final boss
so instead of fighting pyron after defeating Demitri, Donovan is consumed by his vampiric blood and becomes Dee, who you must then play as a Belmont to defeat
