This radar shows his immense improvement throughout the two seasons. His attacking output has certainly improved and this season’s heatmap shows that he is prepared to play on both the flanks along with being a centre forward.
His current market value is €22.50 million and his current contract with Borussia Mönchengladbach expires on 30th June 2023.
At the end of this season, many big names ‘likely’ to leave their current clubs, also some of the long-serving ones require back-up. So, in this thread, we will try to find out how suitable Thuram will be as someone’s either replacement or back-up.
Speculations over Edinson Cavani’s future are just growing day by day. PSG at this moment can really do some smart business if they let the Uruguayan go and sign the Frenchman instead as Thomas Tuchel also loves developing young talents.
According to reports, Aubameyang is uninterested to stay at Arsenal and Arteta may benefit from this if he plays his cards right and sign Marcus who is not as prolific as Auba but is younger, versatile and has a lot of room for improvement.
Dries is currently linked with many top clubs and Napoli should consider Marcus, who also has massive work rate, as his replacement.
The Argentine is a hot prospect right now and Marcus’ versatility, creativity and work rate make him ‘the ideal replacement’ of Martinez in case he leaves.
Edin Dzeko is nearly in his mid-30s and even though he is still the Mr Dependable upfront for AS Roma, their board should opt for Marcus as his back-up as this will also strengthen their bench.
Despite Jamie Vardy’s fiery form, Leicester should scout Marcus as the Frenchman’s attributes make him a great optional centre forward who can also play on the wings.
These two scatterplots show that if Marcus gets proper guidance and work on his finishing ability, he may soon become one of the top forwards of the game.
Should he stay at Mönchengladbach or move on if he gets a decent offer? Also, will he be an ideal replacement of any one of these players? We would like to know your thoughts on this.
