So I’ve been reading Biblical Hebrew and every once in a while I stumble across what seems like a congnate from Arabic (either from my limited study of Arabic or via Arabic vocabulary in Urdu). I’m not a linguist and some of these pairs could be non-cognates, but they sure help1/
In keeping the meanings in mind. In this thread I will record my ‘discoveries’ (lol). The very first word is מהר moher - bride price, which I was instantly able to connect with مھر mahr from Arabic, in Urdu commonly used in terms of حق مہر . 2/-
