There's a common misconception that @TheActorsFund is only for actors. This is not true. It is for EVERYONE in entertainment. Just wanted to take a moment to shout this out. https://actorsfund.org
In our current situation, the many thousands of people who work in all fields of the arts have not had jobs for months and will not have jobs for many more months.
This includes actors and it ALSO includes everyone from musicians to stage hands to front of house staff to agents to directors to writers to designers to administrative staff at theaters to producers to company managers...
.. to people who work for theater-adjacent businesses like ticket companies, merchandise companies, rehearsal studios, theatre websites, on and on. This is the tip of the iceberg as far as people in our industry without a way of making money to pay for rent or food, indefinitely.
I am writing this to make two things clear:
1. If you work in arts and entertainment in ANY job and need help, reach out to The Actors Fund. They are doing everything they possibly can to help people in ALL fields of our industry.
2. If you are helping The Actors Fund right now by donating, posting about them, volunteering your services, or contributing otherwise, you are helping EVERYONE in the community. Thank you.
