Trending #ACAC in HongKong & China(I guess) now: A thread

The hashtag #ACAC, stands for "A Catalogue of Artists from China", is viral now due to a tweet account set up recently (9/5 according to its bio) https://twitter.com/jessica36054590/status/1260224670172733441
According to its pinned tweet, ACAC is set up as a platform to connect Chinese artists and illustrators on Twitter. ACAC will be following Chinese creators, so by checking their following lists it would be easier for Chinese users to locate Chinese creators https://twitter.com/ACACsince5859/status/1259493700360527872
These creators are mostly from Weibo(you can consider it as Chinese twitter, which is the occupying SNS platform in China), and the reason this ACAC account was set up, is mainly due to the worsening environment for creative work on Chinese Internet https://twitter.com/ACACsince5859/status/1259493700360527872?s=19
Here is where #ACAC meets backlash: there are Chinese users who have long been using twitter to escape from the internet surveillance and censorship of Weibo, argue that some of these Chinese creators is part of the reason of the "worsening environment for creative work"
One of the example is 門小雷 Little Thunder, who had been attacked on Weibo last November for supporting the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong https://twitter.com/MIZUKISHY/status/1260537680225435654?s=19
Some points out that although they complain about the censorship and repressive atmosphere on Chinese Internet, it doesn't mean they are fans of freedom and democracy. Meanwhile, they are showing quite a high level of hostility and bias towards HK & TW https://twitter.com/MIZUKISHY/status/1260410708082253827?s=19
"They definitely didn't reflect on the reason why the freedom of creation in China is so repressed right now," one users commented
I do this thread because I want to hear what is your opinion on this exodus of Chinese creators from Weibo, is it a welcome trend as more Chinese teenagers can get access to the culture of free expression and free flow of information;
Or is it a worrying trend as they may be a threat to the existing Chinese twitter, as they may bring in the culture of report and censorship, much like the patriotic trolls which we saw in #nnevvy?
