@united YOU CANCELLED my nonstop to Paris, put me on a flight through NY and DIDN’TEVEN NOTIFY ME OF THE CHANGE. Now your call center, on a terrible line w/crossover f/other callers, is telling me you cannot refund. Please consult the DOT rules and let me know when my $ is coming
You also DOWNGRADED my class of service, gave me 42 minutes to make the connection, and expect me to spend a net 8 hours more traveling, assuming that connection isn’t too tight, which it is.

And again, DID NOT EVEN NOTIFY ME even though you have my email and my phone number.
To anyone following this thread, including @United, I put in another call, got a better connection and a very nice person who, when I cited this DOT rule, agreed to process my refund. So know your rights when you are dealing with the airlines.
