outer banks season two storyline idea /theory!

(this is all just ideas don't judge me lol)

okay so the plane with the gold crashes and peterkin isn't dead. she finds out about the plane crash before the news and media do. there is still no word on john b/sarah being alive and the pogues are still distraught. knowing this, peterkin decides to tell the pogues about

how the plane has crashed and that the gold is out there before the news get to it and others go out to find it. this tears the pogues apart, jj wants to do everything he can to retrieve the gold in honour of his best friend who he thinks is dead. technically, he does have

nothing to lose. however kie & pope are more reluctant. they have their families to think about as well as their relationship. not wanting to conflict each other, they side with the idea that they did everything they could to get the gold in the first place and that was their

job pretty much done, as well as still struggling to grieve the loss of john b & sarah. this makes jj spiral, he drinks and uses drugs and it's literally heartbreaking, he's completely alone nearly every hour of every day.

this is where it gets a bit :/ but i'd love for topper's character to get redemption so i think he's gonna be interested in why the pogues have completely fallen apart and split, either through finding jj completely drunk/high or through pope & kie he learns why they have split

however, he doesn't find out about the gold, he thinks that they've split because jj wants to continue looking for john b/sarah and that pope and kiara are struggling with the idea of what they'd leave behind. with that, topper helps to bring them back together, offering the

support of a kook and the resources they need to find out what happened to john b/sarah. jj is still battling his inner demons and ends up drunkenly telling topper about the plane crash and the gold. however this ends up being beneficial and instead of going off and telling the

other kooks he sticks with the pogues. pope gets a second chance at his scholarship, this forces him to have to pick between working towards that or searching for the gold. with pressure from his family, he ultimately chooses his education. cue argument between pope and kie.

kiara now sides with jj/topper in looking for the gold. they create and plan and set to leave the next day. however they tell no one what they're doing. jj doesn't have much to leave behind but kiara's and topper's families have no idea where they disappear to.

pope is questioned on their whereabouts and has inner battles whether to tell his/their parents where they've gone but he remains loyal to the pogues. peterkin lets them know she is working to cover for them but the story of the plane crash is due to break within a day so they

have very little time. meanwhile, their families are growing more and more suspicious and worried. topper/jj/kie are literally a second away from leaving when pope arrives - he ditches his scholarship. peterkin sees them off and in the last ten seconds she tells them

exactly where the gold is and that sarah/john b are alive and have been spotted (i'm not sure where tho, i don't think they would make it to the bahamas)

then the news of the gold breaks and it's a race to find it. that's all i have for now and obviously there's like twenty other characters storylines like what happens to ward/rafe etc but this is just one idea for the pogues. there's also kook/pogue beef because they can't

believe topper is working with them.

ALSO when they return (with the gold obviously) pope is given his scholarship immediately in honour of his bravery in going to search for the gold and his best friend.
