It’s important schools reopen so children get the education they need. But Govt has failed to meet 3 of its tests:
Rate of infection decrease to 'manageable levels'
Ensuring supply of tests and PPE meet future demand
No risk of second peak to overwhelm NHS (1/5)



It is therefore not yet safe to reopen schools. It's vital all schools are given PPE so everyone is safe, as well as mental health support as children have been through so much in these unprecedented times. I’m also unconvinced a plan is in place to ensure safe distancing. (2/5)
I fully support the @NEUnion's 5 tests for the Government - schools should only reopen once all these important tests are met and it is safe for both staff and children.
