I called myself a “future pediatrician” when I was in fifth grade. My family and educators supported it.

Y’all weird. https://twitter.com/damasceneting/status/1259930696233123842
I’m sorry that some of y’all grew up unsupported and thus lacked confidence, I really am. But to take your insecurities and want to transpose them onto the next person is mean and ridiculously corny.
Imagine meeting a bright-eyed adolescent with goals to make the world a better place and being like, “Shut yo dumb ass up, lil’ boy; you’ll never achieve things in life.”

I’m gonna brag on #MotherWhyte here and say “Maybe I was just raised better.”
Thank you, HUHCCC. Thank you, @pgcps. Thank you, @HowardU. Thank you @SciPeds and @PatriciaLanter and @cathyshubkinmd. You taught and encouraged me. You never gave me the slightest suggestion that I couldn’t reach my goals.
