I’ve been sitting on this .. theory for a few days now but I figure now is as good a time as any to express it .. anyway I’m convinced that the hype over haylor has a lot to do w idealism (which is fine bc who doesn’t like cute stuff) but some ppl fr just take it too far
there’s a difference between being idealistic and realistic and basically I’ve noticed that there are ppl who ship them in an idealistic way (which is more appreciative and ironic) and then there are those who ship them realistically (and genuinely believe they’re endgame)
I know I used to be rly realistic when it came to them because I was a sap but then I realized how fucking unrealistic the concept of them getting back together after a certain point was and I feel like some ppl just haven’t/can’t grasp that
Like .. with the narrative that 1989 paints, it’s like a story. A story of two lovers who were built to fall apart but fall back together (and Taylor making comments about Harry interrupting her wedding didn’t help refute that either) but
Eventually I realized that not all love stories have a happy ending. And that’s okay. Which is why I ship them ironically
Anyway tldr when I say idealistic I mean like... idealizing them because they were cute. And gave us a chance to daydream about dating Harry styles
I feel like I mixed up the definitions of idealistic and realistic somewhere in this thread and I’m sorry I haven’t slept since yesterday LMAO but yeah. I hope this makes sense.
Also it’s obvious that some ppl latch on to the ship just bc they ship it and not bc they genuinely stan them as people (I’ve seen it a lot on harrie twitter especially 😭 pls appreciate my girl fully </3)
So yeah. Thanks for reading
