In light of losing their restaurant gigs, I am noticing a number of Sri Lankan (Tamil) cooks taking their cooking to popups & delivery. It is introducing this city to incredible home-style Sri Lankan cooking, superior to what we already had. Here, three you should follow & order
Cook Murali Thamba spent years catering and cooking in the corporate circuit. He recently launched a preserve line called Brindleberry. Quality SL-style pickles & pastes like this, even in Toronto. Trapping all the classic notes of the island in a jar.

Cucini Catering — mentioned before. Former employee of the now closed Office Pub using the kitchen to pump out seriously good Sri Lankan food. Ask for watti rice, mutton curry, black pork curry (a very rare dish). Lamprais — outstanding

And Kitchen Guerilla — Roshan is an incredibly talented cook that has his own line of hot sauces (the scotch bonnet sauce is probably my favourite sauce), and gelato. He’s starting a delivery/takeout service sometime this week. Sweet dreams of aubergine
