Hold tight for this one. So, like a lot of "Football Twitter", QPR has it's fair share of trolls. Fair enough. I have no problem with Dave from Hemel calling Jim from Ealing a twat because he doesn't rate Yoann Barbet. There is however, a few accounts that continually harass fans
These accounts appear like they are run by the person in question, a genuine fan with genuine gripes but after run-ins with a few of them, I got suspicious. One that particularly interested me was @mrmarkjohnson (who I'm blocked by when I asked to meet for a pint).
After a while, being suspicious, I started to believe that this person may be many things, but they are not the person in the photo and they are not a black teacher working as a head/deputy head. I also doubt they're called Mark Johnson.
When not harassing QPR fans, "Mark" springs into life to defend the government on their education policy and trolls feeds disagreeing with people and lecturing them about how much he knows or how people don't know how hard it is to be a BAME teacher.
He's insinuated I'm a racist a few times, accused me of talking down to a black man (him) & aimed similar stuff @FloydTweet I became pretty certain that "Mark" isn't who he said he is. Last night I decided to find out whose identity he has stolen & who he is pretending to be...
It was a little clue in his profile picture that led to me learning he isn't who he says he is. If you flip it on it's side, you can read the women's lanyard: Baylor. Weird. Turns out it's a university in Texas. "Mark" gets around it seems. And with a location I could find him...
It took some digging through @FortWorthISD website but I stumbled on more and more pictures of "Mark", in Texas, at various schools and education events. Turns out "Mark" has stolen the identity of a genuine teacher (and no, he isn't a QPR fan).
That man is Dr. Mario Layne. He has been informed and hopefully @mrmarkjohnson will have his account shut down for pretending to be someone & something he isn't. Before that happens I wanted to let QPR Twitter community know that all is not what it seems.
Dr. Layne's twitter is pictured below for reference, he is the real "Mark" so to speak. And one favour to ask QPR fans, spread the word that @mrmarkjohnson is a fake. #caseclosed
I'm going to cc in a few other QPR accounts to help get the word out there that "Mark" is not kosher. If you can help by spreading the word, that would be grand. @PelPositive @hillmania @QprColin @lefthookqpr
