I get the 'church isn't a building it is the people,' I really do. But God dwells and manifests in people at a place. Doesn't have to be church building, but we cultivate memory and meaning when God and people and place connect in a transcendent way.

I appreciate the needed missional push that we can follow God right where we are, church isn't building centric, etc. But as a church that is much more active and activist away from the building than when we're in it, I'll say it: I miss connecting with God in that building.

I miss the conversations with non church people who come to a worship experience, or stop by during the week, because 'I've been driving by for months and need to talk to' etc.

Plenty of missional work done in plenty of places, including a church building.
