I get the & #39;church isn& #39;t a building it is the people,& #39; I really do. But God dwells and manifests in people at a place. Doesn& #39;t have to be church building, but we cultivate memory and meaning when God and people and place connect in a transcendent way.

I appreciate the needed missional push that we can follow God right where we are, church isn& #39;t building centric, etc. But as a church that is much more active and activist away from the building than when we& #39;re in it, I& #39;ll say it: I miss connecting with God in that building.

I miss the conversations with non church people who come to a worship experience, or stop by during the week, because & #39;I& #39;ve been driving by for months and need to talk to& #39; etc.

Plenty of missional work done in plenty of places, including a church building.
