Please stop referring to Israel as The Jewish Homeland. Most Jews cannot trace their roots back to the area. It’s a settler colony that was conceived of in the 19th century and allowed to come into existence in the 20th century because its existence served whiteness.

Israel is The Palestinian Homeland — including for Palestinian Jews.

Over the course of nearly a century, the Jewish population of Palestine has grown significantly, and I understand that Israeli Jews feel attached to it as a home. But that doesn’t change the nature or history of the State of Israel.

For those of us who don’t have any kinds of roots in Israel, claiming it as a historic homeland is a matter of propaganda that has nothing to do with history and everything to do with settler colonialism and fear. I’m sympathetic about the fear but it doesn’t justify colonialism.

There is no single Jewish homeland.

There are many Jewish homelands.

My people are from the Ukraine and Russia.

The Torah commands me to tell the truth, and this is the truth. It is not anti-Semitic to tell the truth.
