Okay. A thread.
I'm so tired--of being erased by a settler colonial government and nation that chooses again and again to ignore us, oppress us, commit genocide against us.
So, get out your wallets.
When the government won't give, the people need to. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/doctors-without-borders-navajo-nation-coronavirus/?ftag=CNM-00-10aab7e&linkId=88415817

If you haven't read the piece I just posted, stop and go back to read it.
Take in what's happening, because if you don't, you won't understand.
You need to understand that this is a continuation of the way Indigenous peoples have been treated in this country.

Native people have been creating fundraisers to get supplies to the Navajo nation, and because the government has broken its promises again and again, it's up to us to do something.
So, here's your chance to give: https://www.gofundme.com/f/NHFC19Relief

Here's another opportunity for us to give, and because I know that a lot of you won't actually go to the website and thoroughly look through it, I'll go ahead and post each link from the website below. https://indigenouscovidresponse.com/covid-19-funding-opportunities/
First, this opportunity to give from @ndncollective https://ndncollective.org/covid-19
Here's the next one posted from the website:

There are more grant applications/events posted on that website, and I will continue to share more ways to give as I come across them.
The point is, the government won't care for Indigenous peoples the way it should.
Those promises have been broken again and again.

We have learned throughout history that we are not wanted here-- the legacy of genocide that America declines to talk about is proof of that.
So when a global pandemic hits and Indigenous peoples struggle like this, it only illustrates the point we've been trying to make.

We can scream from where we are that this is how it's been, but it doesn't seem to do any good.
Non-Native people in America have to choose to listen and un-learn what you've learned and take time to examine the truth.

So, please, give when and where you can, but beyond that, learn.
Listen and take in and understand why systems of oppression stay in place.
(I'll keep adding to this list so there are more places to give)

And please follow these Indigenous news sources/reporters because the things that affect our lives rarely make it to mainstream media until it's too late.
