Flynn’s defense team is scared to death of hearing from interested or affected parties. Why is Judge Sullivan allowing “amicus” briefs? That as easy one: our criminal justice system is an adversarial system. The prosecutors/DOJ are supposed to be on the OPPOSITE side of a case...
From the defendant. The defense attorneys are supposed to represent Flynn’s interests & the DOJ is supposed to represent the interests OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. What happens when the prosecutor - Interim US Attorney for DC Tim Shea (& yes, I am embarrassed for my former office) -
is representing the interests of, not the people, but the defendant? What happens when the AG is representing, not the interests of justice, but the interests of the president? Well . . . then it’s no longer an adversarial process. It’s a “fixed” process. It’s a process
rigged against the American people, indeed against justice itself. And THAT is why Judge Sullivan is welcoming amicus (friend of the court) briefs. Because he will not tolerate Barr’s perversion of the criminal justice system. To the extent it’s within his power, Judge Sullivan
will not allow a corrupt Attorney General to perpetrate this horrific injustice against We The People. It’s an adversarial system, and someone has to represent us. Someone has to represent the interests of justice. Because it sure as h&ll ain’t gonna be Bill Barr.
