Actually had to go back through a lot of my old art year by year to figure it out/break it down, because there were a LOT. Near as I can tell, but by no means an exhaustive list (if I consumed it, I cribbed from it)-- https://twitter.com/OhHeyDJ/status/1260329959756673024">https://twitter.com/OhHeyDJ/s...
1) Earliest actual style obsession was Arina Tanemura (before this I was just copying whatever I saw without trying to deconstruct it) which I would not recommend as a starter influence tO ANYONE.
Pros: I feel like I gained an understanding of and obsession with hand anatomy and posing, as well as a love for drawing hair and understanding how it sits on the head.
Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE. her style is VERY stylized and not great for beginners. i drew so many giant bug eyes. i had to spend years unlearning and then re-learning hair/eyes.

left: arinacchi art
right: some of my earliest tanemura-inspired art from... 2004? THE EYES. THE FRILLS.
2005: this is hard to narrow down. this year i do a LOT of fanart, trying to copy the style of each different show as i go. my style goes through a weird phase where it changes every week. i& #39;m starting to simplify hair more, but the bug-eyes are still there when i& #39;m not copying.
i want to say that there& #39;s maybe some bleach and naruto influences in here but that seems weird to me considering i don& #39;t recall ever really sitting down and analyzing either style, but my old art folder from this year has a lot of fanart from both series, so maybe that& #39;s it???
2006-07: THE AIR GEAR YEARS. ME AND ALL MY FRIENDS GET CRAZY INTO AIR GEAR. IN A BIG WAY. I WILL COME TO REGRET THIS FOR YEARS TO COME.
2008: everything is gankutsuou and nothing hurts. (ha.) eyes and hair are finally starting to get simplified. i begin to understand that sometimes noses are round??? WOW.
oh, nope, i lied. i found more air gear influence even in as late as the 2008 folder. damn you ogure.

EARLY TANEMURA OBSESSION WITH HANDS STILL SERVING ME WELL. I STILL CAN& #39;T DRAW SHOULDERS OR FACES OR HEADS IN 2008 BUT FOR SOME REASON, I CAN DRAW HANDS.
oh. OH. somehow, i forgot!

in 2008 i also join tegaki-e, and for once, not an established manga artist but instead the first friend i meet there, @Triangle_Art_JW has a HUGE impact on the way i start to understand faces and noses. for the first time my style gets less anime??
it& #39;s not immediately apparent in my 2008 art, but that& #39;s where the shift starts. by 2010, my art now looks like this:
(i am also, at this stage, an unrepentant homestuck. i draw loads of floating heads, because my ability to draw different faces has suddenly shot way ahead of my ability to draw bodies.)
2012-2013: i am starting to get the hang of the rest of the body, but i have no fucking clue who or what i& #39;m influenced by here at this point anymore. LIKE, IT& #39;S CLEARLY *SOMEONE* OR *SOMETHING*, BECAUSE THIS IS VERY DIFFERENT TO BEFORE. BUT WHO OR WHAT? I DO NOT RECALL.
anyway gonna stop here now, thanks for taking this stroll down bad-art memory lane with me folks
