So no social distancing planned and no PPE for teachers.
That is quite a contrast with my (French) kids’ school.

1st thing is, my 4-yrs-old won’t return.
As the guidance here is social distancing+masks for the teachers.
The guidance also is “touch nothing but your own stuff and your -disinfected every time the kids leave the classroom- table.
That was deemed impossible for the youngest kids
Elder kid will go to school 2 days a week. Three half-classes at a time, each following a specific path to enter/get out. As in they won’t even see each other. Not allowed to touch the walls, the stairs, anything. Hands in the pockets.
In the classroom they’ll sit 2 meters away from each other, inc. the teacher. He/she can’t touch them/their work or come any closer. If he/she has to look at something, kid gets up to put it on a specific table, gets back to his/her seat, (masked) teacher looks but does not touch
Kids are to be separated during the breaks when they go outside. To stay at their table if it’s raining. If they take their lunch at school they stay at their table to eat their (cold) meal.
Masks are advised for pupils but not compulsory as to be efficient they need not to be touched once in 3 1/2 hours. My kid will not have 1 as he absolutely can’t do that.
Hand-washing required when entering/any break/before to get out/if they sneeze/blow their nose/touch anything
Parents are required to take kids’ temperature before to bring them to school. Slight fever = stay home. Cough = stay home. Slight fever/cough in class = sent to the quarantine area to wait for parents, and booking for test. If positive, tests for all.
We’ll see tomorrow how this goes: Not sure how my 8-yrs-old will react (that and if he doesn’t respect the military rules he’s to be sent back home) -or could ask for home schooling only.
It does look like extreme caution is taken.
So U.K., no mask and no social distancing, hey?
Side note: I found this very helpful to teach my kids the proper hand-washing technic. (We did it with paint.)
Even my (supervised) 4-years-old is doing quite well on his own now.
