These are the eastern and western edges of London. Working class people who live in these areas have to commute to jobs in the centre and the City.

I’ve picked two locations, one east, Wanstead and one west, Northolt to show what travel to the centre looks like, using Oxford Circus as “the centre”. It’s respectively a 3 hour or 4 hour walk from these locations or a cycle ride of around an hour.

This is THE obvious context to the crowded public transport scenes the media like baiting with. Its is why many see the “rush to work” as an attack on the working class. The BAME community’s also significant in those outer areas. You now have no excuse for not understanding this
