Globally, the virus continues its march, with more than 85,000 cases confirmed on a seven-day average...
Daily deaths have been declining and are now averaging just above 5,000 deaths on a seven-day average...
Nearly 300,000 people have died since the beginning of the pandemic...
... 1.5 million have recovered...
... and there are 2.5 million active cases...
Until the number of net cases (new cases – new deaths – new recoveries) contract, the number of active cases will continue to grow...
Last week in Singapore it seemed that the situation was under control, unfortunately daily cases are trending again...
South Korea is seeing some new clusters, and the number of daily cases reflects this and has been growing for the past four days...
India is trending...
Japan is fine for now, but yesterday saw the most cases in five days...
Whilst countries are slowly reopening in Europe, there are still 607,000 active cases...
Net daily cases are growing again, after being briefly negative. If the trend continues, this is not a good sign...
Italy reported their most cases in a week...
The UK is by far the country in Europe adding the most cases every day...
... as well as being the country reporting the most deaths; some will argue this is due to the early botched response to the virus...
The US finally overtook the European Big Five total for reporting the most confirmed cases...
... although should not see as many deaths than Europe...
However, as the daily growth rate is steady, the total deaths related to Covid-19 will be well over 100,000 before month end...
Daily cases out of New York and New Jersey are still strong...
Illinois added the most cases in a single day after running a record test day...
South America is now the hotspot, with Brazil...
... Argentina...
... Colombia...
... and Chile all trending...
Africa has now reported more than 45,000 confirmed cases...
... with South Africa leading the way...
In the Middle East, daily cases are trending again...
... Saudi Arabia...
... Qatar...
... and Iran...
There are nearly 700,000 confirmed cases within the Emerging Markets...
With Russia adding more than 10,000 daily cases for the past ten days...
