3-5yr olds plan ahead when walking in multi-obstacle environments and find ways to accommodate their variable movement.

Children were sensitive to their variable foot placement. They accommodated this with large margins of error between their feet and the obstacle.

Children adjusted the position and the variability of foot placement well in advance of upcoming obstacles.
