As Norwegian football has been heavily restricted by COVID-19 rules for training, we as coaches have had to come up with new exercises and training acitivites. Here's a few of my - and my players' - favourites so far.
Here's another activity to encourage positioning on different lines and heights of the field, as well as diagonal passing/combinations. Players in two highest zones have to be positioned on opposite sides (as well as starting in their own zones) when one of them receives the pass
If the closest attacker receives, he plays a wall pass and finishes in one of the two mini goals (eventually on a goalie in a big goal when bigger groups are allowed). If the furthest attacker receives, he plays a one touch lay off (3rd man combination) to the other attacker.
Also nice to work on bode positioning when receiving. As always.
To eventually make this more difficult for the attackers, you could at first try to decrease the width of the field of the defender's zone. Then this could maybe work as a step two, enforcing a much higher level of dismarking behaviour and better synergy between the attackers.
Also: Check out @jackbraz29 recent posts with some really great training acivities! The big clubs in Norway are doing a massive job sharing their work with the rest of us :-)
