The big picture: The crisis in Russia and Brazil is becoming more serious than it was in Europe.

Here's the current ranking of countries by cases reported:
The US: Deaths running at about 1600 per day.

Total deaths hit 83,425.

A new study predicts total deaths will eventually reach 147,000.
Spain, Italy & France: Broadly good news although some upward blips.
Germany: Deaths now well under 100 per day.
Russia: More than 10,000 new cases per day and rising.

Deaths: Wildy undercounted, and the government is fooling no one with these numbers.
The UK: The Russia situation has pushed the UK back into 4th place for total cases.

Lockdown relaxed today. A bad day for deaths yesterday, 627, but highs continue to go lower and lows go lower too.
Brazil: Active cases and new cases show some slowdown in the curve, but both still on the increase. Deaths - lagging indicator - still rising.
Sweden: Where does Sweden rank?

New cases are cycling up and down on a weekly basis. But it looks like the highs are going lower and the lows are going lower — but progress is slow.
Sweden: Cases are a function of how many tests you do. Sweden is 14th of all large countries in terms of cases per million.
Sweden: Active cases are still climbing. Not a good sign.
Sweden: Deaths appear to be in decline.
⭐️Conclusion: In terms of preventing deaths, Sweden's strategy has largely failed.⭐️
Belgium: New cases and deaths on the rise again.

Sweden: Ranks No.6 for deaths per capita. Much worse than the USA or any of its Scandinavian neighbours.
⭐️Conclusion: In terms of preventing deaths, Sweden's strategy has largely failed.⭐️
