5 most underrated strikers at Tottenham in the modern day (A Thread)
Roman Pavlyuchenko: 41 goals in 113 appearances between 2008-2012- huge in UCL qualification 2010. Not the greatest bagsman ever, but deserved more credit.
Robbie Keane: 121 goals in 302 games across 2 spells totalling 9 years- complimented all his strike partners well and scored some belters, will only be remembered for his poor spell at Liverpool, which is a shame.
Peter Crouch: 24 goals in 93 games across 2 years, again, live Roman, not a well-renowned bagsman, but a big game player nonetheless- Milan away, City away, Inter home to name a few- always seemed to step up and get zero credit for it- hold up play never be appreciated for JD.
Jermain Defoe: 143 goals in 361 games across 2 spells totalling 9 years- good numbers, top bagsman- 18 league goals in the 09/10 UCL qualification season, never rated as high due to number of top strikers around on his day.
Fernando Llorente: 13 goals in 66 games the least gifted on the list and barely prolific at all, but passion gets him across the line mostly in UCL games, stepped up against Dortmund and City, changed the game in Amsterdam (hold up play). One of my favourite spurs players ever.
