One of the erroneous mentality in Africa is the assertion that elders cannot be corrected.

Some elders tell blatant lies, and they'll ask you to shut up because it's inappropriate to correct them.

Same thing is applicable to some Nigerians and their masters

When people talk small of Mr. President, some 'right-thinking' Nigerians will appear on the scene with guns and swords — ready to plug their teeth on you like 15A plug — to say: Don't you have respect for elders? That man is old enough to be your father or grand father.
One Yoruba adage opined that Ile-Ife was built by the unified wisdom of the young and old. If an elder can see stuff — that a child on a tree cannot see — from his seat; then, events, outcomes, and input are constant.
The adage isn't applicable to the elder that's still thinking in the 1900 binary in comparison to the 21st century.

Elders remain relevant when they fine-tune themselves with the realities of the present day. Then, the latter proverb is valid.
An elder that has refused to move from his primitive thinking is already obsolete.

You too talk nah? Is Mr. President in touch with modern realities?

"Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished." Ecc. 4:13
