Thread about what was technically our first show, at Bart's House in 2019:
We made plans to play a song at the end of my ( @bri__carmel) solo set, for my 21st birthday show. @SeafloorCinema was headlining, @dannygavingray & @shittymural_ were opening, and Conserve played after us

We did not have a band name yet.
On the night of, there was a HUGE storm. It caused a power outage. We all decided to do our best to continue the show as an unplugged gig; the first 3 acts were already acoustic.
The storm didn't seem to stop most people from having a good time.

@dannygavingray played a great opening set, the crowd sang along to @shittymural_, and @SeafloorCinema bought everybody drinks & pizza.
Eventually it was time to play my solo set. The closer I got to the end of the set, the more I felt overwhelmed. With love, and anxiety, lmao.

I was quite intoxicated, and also very emotional, bc the crowd was singing along, and also bc VERY few ppl had heard anything I had written w/ @DeadToJoey, and suddenly we were in a room full of dozens and dozens of friends and strangers, about to play it live for the first time
And then.. The power came back on. Literally EVERYONE in the crowd started screaming in excitement.
I immediately looked at @DeadToJoey. Idk what he was thinking, but I know I was too overwhelmed to speak, & we shared eye-contact for a good moment. And everyone kept screaming!!!

Eventually, @lavaspikey went into host-mode & took over, and asked us if we wanted to plug in since the power was back on.
Which was perfect, bc we got to sound extra nice, AND I got to take a moment to process all the overwhelming feelings while the equipment was being set up.

We played No-Good Youth, it was very fun
There was time for @shittymural_ to play some songs plugged in before Conserve played
During @SeafloorCinema's set, I joined them for This Is The End. May or may not have had a small mental breakdown over how big the crowd was beforehand

It was truly an unforgettable show.
