Was speaking to a friend who works for an American MNC. His firm is shifting production out of China. Any guesses where they are moving to?

Had a long discussion with him ( me acting like a faux government babu to try to convince him to come to India)

He is very clear. The Americans wont come here until our labour laws change. They need flexibility in hiring. They are scared of the powers labour unions exert in India ( i guess one too many newsreports). I did suggest that certain states have started relaxing labour laws.

He said the rules need to come out first and the slew of cases filed in courts( and rants by the opposition) means the change in labour laws is not writ in stone yet. They need clarity in it and finality.
