Awareness is important
Focus helps us in becoming aware.
But. How to focus ? This is a common question many asked me when I say them to do dhyana.
It can be simple if u start observing . Deep observation around you will help one understand the current situation they are in
How many actually observe nowadays . Those negative spreading news channels , political baised social Media the society has involved so much in them in the name of Hinduism they have lost the Adyatmik in them. You can see ppl who meditate or yogis they observe even a ant for
Hours this helps one understand that this body , the breath and mind all are connected to everything . This makes one want to seek the real self in them. Observation will help one discriminate what's right and wrong .now one is able to focus on right "ignoring the ignorence"
Focus is a constant flow of your energy in one direction lead it to divine you experience divinity . Lead the focus to dirty things you experience dirty emotions only that's a basic truth our elders have said us . We sanatanis should be real proud of our spiritual heritage
And culture that even a basic talk here is like a philosophy to many.
From my personal experience here are some suggestions for focusing during Dhyana . If you haven't practiced any methods try these:
Even when you are reading this thread observe the flow of thoughts in you now
Clam down with deep breath. Close your eyes now become aware of your physical surroundings the place where you sit , observe sounds near and far one too don't think or get involved in them just let those sounds heard take deep breaths. Focus on your ishta (fav divine form)
Feel their presence in either heart or focus in mid of eyebrows don't think about any chakras stuffs just the divine form there comes a joy from inner you (the bhakta wakes up) if other thoughts come don't get involved clam down you actually are now able to observe that the
Thoughts are changing that's a good sign focus back on the divine form a silence remains every where once you are completely in awareness state thoughts actually aren't meant to be stoped but they are from intellect (Buddhi) ,mind(manas) and indriya(senses) you must not
Involve in them but observe then it becomes easy to control them most ppl today who say( I am the master of my mind I do what I think ) are actually under the control of buddhi, manas and indriya one who controls them can experience the state of awareness (shiva) you remain in
That state of awareness with sadanas one become always aware(sada shiva) it's simple which yet complex to many , vedanta is the proof that the complete awareness and true consciousness is unchanged your thoughts comes and goes, experience fades, emotions change body gets
Old day by day but the unchanged element in you is the real self for from Maya of this materialistic world 🙏 remeber the mahakavya "Ayam atma brahma"( this self is brahman)- Chandogya Upanishad
Question "who am I" and then seek to know the true self .....
These are my experience and I have no intention to harm anyone's feelings or beliefs from this post.
Om namah shivaya 🙏
