A detailed performance report on How PM Jan Dhan Yojna(PMJDY) has been doing since its inception in 2014.

Sources : Official notifications , Govt website , newspaper reports.

Will try and cover both achievements and what it has lacked in its implementation the following thread.
What is the PM Jan Dhan Yojna scheme?

Acc to the official website:
The reach if the PMJDY till now , as made public by the GOI :
PMJDY , after GOI review , was termed a great success and the following mission statement was made in regards to what the vision of PMJDY would be and its impact.
When PMJDY was released , rural penetration banking benefits were significantly lower to what is right now.
Establishment of E - mitra or Banking Kiosk (Banks working in co-operations with Panchayat and high speed internet to cater to local banking needs)
Banking via Kiosk still remains the most popular methodology of banking as of now in rural areas , its practically extending the banking main branch resources at your doorstep.
Also , it became a centre for KYC and other integration of personal documents.
A prime example of how technology worked in tandem with good policy using Local resources.

The BahartNet programme hence becomes that much more important.

Also major development in data availability at low cost 30% of JDY account holders visit bank on phone notifications.
PMJDY during Pandemic :

Rs 500 were transferred to all the PMJDY account holder soon after the lockdown was announced.

No middle men , and any such benefits would reach in no time to the beneficiaries.

Effective and efficient.
Initially piloted by Ibtada in Alwar, Rajasthan, the survey was expanded to 50 districts across eight states (Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Rajasthan), with a total of 10,992 women JD account holders.
Stats are as follows :
Nearly 90 percent of the respondents had an active JD account, five percent did not, and the remaining were unaware of the status of their JD accounts. Notably, even in some remote parts of the country, such as in the tribal districts of Odisha..
...90 percent of the JD accounts were operational. Of the eight states surveyed, Maharashtra had the least proportion of active accounts, at about 50 percent.

Of those who had active JD accounts, 66 percent said they had received the cash transfer of Rs 500 in their accounts.
About 76%of the respondents who had received the cash transfer said that they have already withdrawn the amount. The rate of withdrawal also varied among states – in Bihar & Maharashtra, more than 90 percent of the respondents had withdrawn the money, while in Kar the no<50%
Some draw backs
1) Error in inclusion of right demography
2) Inaccessible infrastructure and lack of awareness
3) Still almost 20% BPL populace unaccounted for in JDY.
There have been significant issues (eg delayed, rejected, blocked or diverted payments) in JDY payments, often related to Aadhaar. But then, numerous “direct benefit transfer” schemes (social security pensions, scholarships, maternity benefits, among others) hav faced similar prblms
Some recommendations to put 20 lac cr relief package to use wrt to BPL and the migrant labourers

1)Universalise PDS to reach 100 percent of poor

2)Ensure pulses in doubled rations and expand scheme for next 6 months
3) Increase cash transfer to Rs 7k a month per households (works out to Rs 50 per person per day)

4)Increase the net of beneficiaries for cash transfers by collating information from MNREGA,Ujjwala PDS& local registrations in urban places, instead of solely depending on JDPMKY
5) Expand MNREGA -- by introducing Urban employment guarantee scheme, increase the number of activities under NREGA to include manufacturing of masks and other equipment and contact tracing
This is an unbiased report on PMJDY and other functionaries that are being used extensively or could be used to further distribute the benefits of the announced relief package of 20 lac cr effectively.

RTs are appreciated
*20 lac cr relief package is actually 13 lac cr

7 lac cr worth if relief already announced since lockdown.
