ranking the us individual state flags. ohio's at #1, mostly for not being flag shaped

putting south dakota at #50. very ugly flag!

at #49 maryland. in some ways more gross looking than south dakota, but is more bold about it

#48, mississippi. has a hate symbol in the flag. weird choice!

at #47 we have hawaii. just a deeply unpleasant design. looks like something the union jack would vomit up

#46. tennessee. i kinda like the circle in the middle visually. the two stripes off to the side throw the whole thing off balance

#45, delaware - what the hell is that color and who put it on a flag

at #44 we have the great state of kentucky with a not-so-great flag. better luck next time, kentucky!

#43. florida. the overly complex seal feels out of place

#42, west virginia. got a lot going on here, and none of it is very good at all! looks like a boomer political cartoonist drew it

at #41 we have alabama. simpler, cleaner version of the florida flag. loses a lot of points for being visually boring

#40, and the last until i wake up tomorrow morning, is arkansas. points for looking like a shitpost, negative points for so overtly referencing the confederate flag

alright we're gonna do a few more. #39, new jersey. weird color scheme

#38, georgia. props to them for getting rid of the old one that had the confederate flag on it

#37 is virginia. it's ok

#36, new york state. got some dorky shit going on here

#35 is nebraska, which has way too much going on

#34. the illinois state flag once again looks like a political cartoon. i like the bird though

#33. vermont. i like elements of this but imo there's way too much negative space

#32 is new hampshire. i like the seal on this one it's fun

at #31 we have north carolina. it's solid overall but they should ditch the two banners, they're really unnecessary

and #30 is oklahoma! kinda like the design but the big block letters aren't really needed

we're near the halfway point with #29, kansas. can't believe we've come this far. once again ditch the text ffs

#28 is france i mean iowa

#27, north dakota. weirdly off center/off-kilter feeling here but looks pretty good overall

#26 is the land with all the lakes, minnesota. it's nice and balanced, i like it

and #25, the halfway point and stopping point until later today, wisconsin. folks we gotta lose the text at some point this shit is embarrassing

we're back with #24! oregon. i'm against flag text but i like the font and the shades of blue/yellow here

#23 is missouri. it's got bears and the netherlands what more could you ask for

next is #22, michigan. it's got a moose

#21 is maine. another moose

#20 is rhode island. i just think it's neat

at #19 we have pennsylvania. it's cool

#18 is connecticut, which has grapes i think

#17, idaho, gets points for saying "state of idaho" twice on it
