I usually call my parents every weekend.

My mum attends MFM so I tried to make sure I call her, so she could leave church on time to take her medication.

This time I called my mum and she was crying on the phone. I was scared, I thought something bad had happened.
So, I asked her, mum. “Ogịnị, why ị na-ebe ákwá?. Mum: “Chidi, Nigeria e mebiela”.

She was coming back from church & noticed a family walking behind her. She didn’t know who they were so she wasn’t paying much attention till she got to our gate & noticed they were behind her
She stopped and asked who they were looking for and they all replied, “its you ma”. So she asked them, “I hope there is no problem?.

The husband, wife and their two kids.

“No, ma. We need your assistance ma, we have no money or food to feed the kids, things are very rough”
My mum started crying. The family who needed help were the one consoling my mum.

She gets emotional like that. She asked them to come in, served them food and drinks. When they got done, gave them food stuffs, money and asked them to always check-in if they need assistance.
Things are very rough for people in this time of the season. Since, we have a government who do not have any social interventions to help the temporary displaced or poor citizens, please, reach out to people and offer assistance of you could.

There is hunger in the land. Thanks.
