Universities across the country are beginning to share updates about their plans for the fall semester. Looks like it’s time for another way-too-long Twitter thread!

*As per usual, these tweets are my interpretation of university statements. Errors may exist. 🤷‍♀️

MAY 7: Royal Roads was the first to announce plans for the fall term. All Royal Roads programs, courses and residencies will be online until the end of 2020. https://twitter.com/RoyalRoads/status/1258521228718993408?s=20
MAY 11: At McGill, Fall 2020 courses will be offered primarily through remote delivery platforms. They are also “committed to providing the opportunities for extracurricular engagement that are hallmarks of the McGill experience.” https://twitter.com/mcgillu/status/1259847911996829697
McGill hints at the possibility of some on-campus activities (not classes) this fall, but it will depend on public health recommendations.
MAY 11: UVic will be offering programming predominantly online for the fall term. They are “exploring opportunities for in-person instruction to support essential experiential learning, graduate education and work-integrated learning”. https://twitter.com/uvic/status/1259926640647380992
(All those big words took up a lot of space in my tweet)

More info about any in-person instruction will come with the release of the fall timetable (maybe?).
MAY 11: At SFU, most classes will be delivered through remote methods. Selected courses may have in-person instructional activities where learning objectives cannot be easily replicated through remote instruction (lab-based classes, field trips, etc.). https://twitter.com/SFU/status/1259980963913912321?s=20
SFU’s message is my favourite of the bunch so far. It felt clear and supportive, and what more can you ask for? 👍
MAY 11: UOttawa has released their course enrolment schedule for the fall and winter terms. All courses (with some exceptions) will include a distance-learning option in the fall. https://twitter.com/uOttawa/status/1260214338008363014?s=20
UOttawa still hopes to welcome students on-campus, and haven’t yet ruled out in-person learning, but have committed to having online options regardless.
MAY 12: The fall 2020 semester at Cape Breton University will be delivered completely online. There’s no ifs, ands, or buts in their statement. Completely online. https://twitter.com/cbuniversity/status/1260320181080948737?s=20
