I honestly thought the VBS saga was one of those low hanging fruits that both The Hawks & the NPA could easily pluck, especially after Adv Motau's report into the "heist". As things stand, damn was I wrong. Just seems like we've hit a dead-end. No movement whatsoever.

Consider that former employee, Phophi Mukhodobwane, released a detailed affidavit that had spreadsheets on where the majority of the money went. Politicians from both the ANC & EFF raided the coffers of that bank. Not a single person in jail.

Where are the forensic investigators? Money went into bank accounts & some was laundered. How far is the investigation? When are we seeing arrests?

People where caught on phones soliciting bribes. There are audio recordings, WhatsApp messages. But dololo arrests. The likes of Danny Msiza & Florence Radzilani continue to walk free. That rogue King, Toni Ramabulana, is free as a bird. Incredible.

This case is a slamdunk. Maybe the question we should be asking ourselves is whether there is a political will to resolve this. We knew when the Scorpions were disbanded after 2007 that it would be a free for all. The Hawks can't take flight to this day.

The search & seizure ensued on the 17th of April 2018. Mukhodobwane, Philip Truter, Andile Ramavhunga, Paul Magula, Ernest Nesane, Phalapha Ramikosi, Tshifhiwa Matodzi, fixer Kabelo Matsepe & Robert Madzonga all remain free.

Have both The Hawks & the NPA been so hollowed out that they've become obsolete? President @CyrilRamaphosa, we've been "watching this space" & now it's sucking us all on. How deep is the rot at these institutions? I'm perplexed.
