Tonight we are observing Barnard's Star from the Arecibo Observatory. We are looking for flares, which will help to understand the magnetic properties of this second closest system. Our field of view (beam size) can detect any radio emissions from the star and its planets (one confirmed so far). Unfortunately, our frequency range (1 GHz bandwidth in the L-band) is not good enough to detect auroras from its planets, but ...
