PALADIN: what about me

DM: you hear one of the guards say "did somebody just drop a fuckton of pots and pans?"

PALADIN:

DM: "i'm talking like 300 pounds of cookware here"

ROGUE AND FIGHTER:

DM: three guards climb down from their post and surround you. Rose, Rumple Punchface, you going to do anything here?

ROGUE: we're gonna let this one play out

DM: Sir Faldsworth?

PALADIN: "my good friends, there's no need to be alarmed"

DM: the guards look on, motionless

PALADIN: "i am conducting but a routine inspection. consult this pedigree and see for yourselves"

DM: make a deception check

PALADIN: my charisma is so good

PALADIN: [rolls nat 1]

PALADIN: shit

DM: you hold up a Wendy's receipt

DM: the guards draw their weapons. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way," one spits.

PALADIN: "i guess it is time to beg for forgiveness"

DM: the guards slowly lower their weapons "That's what I thought."

PALADIN: "i didn't mean me"
SWORD: *shing*

ROGUE: badass

I should also add that group checks are a great alternative to this!

DM sets the DC, and if half the group passes it, they succeed as a group!

That way everyone's not constantly mad at the strength-based character who helps in other situations.
