If Shakespeare *didn't* write the plays....does that change how you read the plays? If it does, why?

how badly do we need a secret drama behind the drama onstage, or on the page? Why is it that every author must be embroiled in an equally dramatic life, as though the life was a sort of cathartic spectacle, too
