I think if it’s to a certain level it’s fine but I really don’t want svt turning into mini BTS where every aspect of their existence has to do with mental health and ‘struggling’
cause at what point do we stop stanning them for their music and personalities and when do we start pitying them and supporting them out of obligation cause at the end of the day we’re ALL STRUGGLING but they’re men struggling wearing Cartier watches you know
Mental health doesn’t care how much money you have but the fact is trying to PROFIT off of manufactured and over exaggerated ‘struggle’. Making the fans feel like they’re morally obligated to give them their money when we all know Seventeen doesn’t get 100% of it anyway.
Making fans think they NEED to risk their own mental and physical health just to company presidents and CEOs can pay off their leased Mercedes Benz and their million dollar condo mortgage
I do love getting a little bit closer to Seventeen because for the longest time their image was perfect curated in a way that the fans were close-ish but it was never like other groups. Their images has to be pristine and some of the connection with fans had to suffer.
So I’m HAPPY to be able to get a little closer: let’s just hope Pledis and HSS know there’s a limit. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
