There's a huge difference between being a Twitter guru and actually having something to say that's worth something.

There are a lot of history buffs here on Twitter.

And I think they are going to like what I am about to say.

Without further ado...

Sometimes it is quite shocking how you can look at something for years and not even realize what you're seeing.

If you're a history buff like me, you've no doubt looked at a map, specifically a map of Europe DOZENS of times in your life.

2/
And you've looked at it, and several different versions of it besides, that shows different things.

Things like the topography of Europe.

Or the various capitals, or any other focal point of choice based on the type of thing you're looking to learn about.

3/
You may have seen a lot, and learned a TON from said versions of the same map, but what if you missed something REALLY obvious.

Something that has been present in EVERY version of the map of Europe you've seen.

Sitting right there, under your nose the whole time?

4/
The face of Europe has changed MANY times over the course of history.

Empires have risen up to rule but have also fallen by being conquered by another that takes it's place and rules for a certain period of time.

5/
And out of all those empires in Europe and the Middle East, there have been FOUR major kingdoms that ruled with great power and influence in history.

They are known as the four kingdoms of antiquity which are...

Babylon
Medo-Persia
Greece
Rome

6/
For the purposes of this historical thread, we'll focus on Rome which just so happens to be the FOURTH and LAST of these empires to rule Europe.

A kingdom KNOWN as the...

Kingdom of Iron!

7/
The Roman Empire rose to power after the fall of the Grecian Empire.

This was after the death of Alexander the Great and when the city states of Greece were divided up amongst his four generals.

8/
In the Bible, specifically in Daniel 2, the king of Babylon had a dream in which he saw a great statue of a man.

And his entire body from head to toe represented the four aforementioned kingdoms of antiquity beginning with Babylon and ending with the DIVIDED Roman Empire!

9/
What made the Roman Empire army famous was their heavy infantry FOOTmen who traveled by land and were an unstoppable LEGION of troops.

This is well documented in history.

10/
...the complete Roman legion, in its own peculiar cohorts, contains within itself the heavy-armed FOOT, that is: the principes, hastati, triarii, and antefignani, the lightarmed FOOT, consisting of the ferentarii, archers, slingers, and balistarii..."

11/
The #Bible corroborates this with a detail of its own about that great and powerful fourth empire...

Daniel 2:40
And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these...
Daniel 2:40:41
...shall it BREAK IN PIECES and bruise. And whereas thou sawest the FEET and TOES, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be DIVIDED...

Everyone already knows that Rome was indeed divided in history.

It's a fact.

13/
The fact of the matter is, Rome ruled the world for a long time.

The Iron Empire that literally stamped down entire nations and empires has a land mass that LOOKS LIKE A FOOT.

A FOOT IN A BOOT!

And yes, I'm talking about Italy!

14/
As usual, no one needed the #Bible to tell them anything about the empire that was to rise up after Greece.

Because any idiot living 50 miles East of the Adriatic Sea and looking at THIS simple map knowing what Daniel said many years prior would have said...

"Well duh!"

15/
If it quacks like a duck, it's probably duck.

Simple, really.

And if you're a Greek in 146BC, and Italy on a geographical map looks like a boot to you..., it's probably going to kick your a**!

16/
As always, the truth is obvious.

Everyone knows Italy looks like a boot.

But no one ever thinks about WHY it does.

And now...

You know why.
