Monday is the 40th anniversary of Mount St. Helens' historic 1980 eruption. We're counting down the days with some of our favorite ~*volcano content*~ we've produced over the years.

Mount St. Helens reopened to climbing in 1987, about the same time that snowboarding was emerging as a popular winter sport. By the 2000s, St. Helens became a destination for boarders who could peer into a steaming volcano before sliding down. https://bit.ly/2Wp7lgZ
